The meeting was attended by the Special Commissioner of the anti-racket, prefect Giosue 'Marino, the honorary president of the Federation anti-racket, Tano Grasso, the public prosecutor, Giuseppe Pignatone, the senior police officers, the Prefect Francesco Musolino, and the Mayor of Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Scopelliti. In detail, it should be total exemption of taxes and local taxes for 5 years for traders, artisans, professionals and victims of extortion, anti-racket to the amnesty, the target of 5 per 1000 IRPEF, relating to revenue municipalities in 2009, to promote the culture of policies to achieve anti-racket with trade associations. Among the initiatives outlined also the creation of surveillance systems. The city has already committed half a million euro to ensure the surveillance system in 15 city schools. In the 2009 budget we will proceed further to include an allocation of € 1.5 million for financing capital spending that can be implemented by the municipality or by private individuals.
"With regard to the initiatives of the municipality of Reggio Calabria - said the Special Commissioner of the anti-racket, Prefect Joshua Marino - it is a strong testimony of the local administration, along with other leading institutions of a strong recovery path of legality, a strong invitation to the complaint.
