The National Union of Somali Journalists condemns the arrest journalist Idle Moallim, which occurred in the town of Bossasso January 5, 2008. Moallim, a freelance journalist, was detained in the region of Puntland, while preparing a report about human trafficking that takes place between the city and the Gulf of Bossasso. Omar Faruk Osman, Secretary General of NUSOJ (National Union of Journalists Somal), said: "We demand the immediate release of Idle Moallim. Intimidate journalists for in-depth issues of public interest such as trafficking in human beings is absurd. "
