A French television journalist was kidnapped Saturday by unknown persons in the port city of Bosaso, the economic capital of this semi-autonomous region, separate from the rest of Somalia (Somaliland as well as) the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991. Gwen Le Gouil was a day in the city and would have to run a service on the illegal trafficking of migrants between Somalia and Yemen to "Art" television network for which he works. Bosaso has long been a major point of transit of illegal trafficking in human beings between the Horn of Africa and the coasts of the Arabian Peninsula.
The French Foreign Ministry confirmed the release, which occurred today, Gwen Le Gouil, the French journalist abducted in Somalia last December 16. For liberation - from Paris state - not 'no ransom was paid.
